The Story of Grace.
Shanyi Organics is the brainchild of our founder Grace Oriaghan. The word "Shanyi" means Grace in Mandarin. The journey into birthing this brand started way before our founder knew she’d start or own a business.
As a teenager, she found lumps in her left breast but kept it a secret because of fear, shame and lack of proper exposure to the right sexual education.
Several years later, during a compulsory medical examination the lumps were found by a doctor and what was thought to be just one lump became 6 lumps removed from both breasts.

This experience completely shaped the trajectory of her life and led to questioning, pursuit of knowledge, research and a resolve to intentionally make safe lifestyle choices with regards to what she ate, what she applied to her hair and body and to generally live a more sustainable and healthy life for her and her family.
While checking the ingredients list at the back of mainstream beauty products she realized how difficult it was to access safe beauty products in her country Nigeria. She began researching on how to make clean, effective beauty products and coupled with her background in science and microbiology, she decided to fill that gap in the African beauty industry. After much research, formulations and testing, she launched Shanyi Organics with 5,000 Nigerian Naira, (approximately $25) in January 2016.
Shanyi Organics is a people-centric brand with empathy, family-focused and excellence as core values. We are relentless in our pursuit of what works for you and your family. We settle for nothing less than the highest quality and standards of care we hold ourselves to.
